About the Recipe
Steamed shrimps are a versatile second course paired with any salad or added to a potato salad. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins and low carbs.

Ingredients
20 Shrimps
Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
1 Organic Lemon
Garlic Clove (Optional)
Preparation
Place the shrimps in a colander.
Wash them with cold water.
Remove their heads by pinching and twisting them simultaneously, using your index finger and thumb, while holding their body firmly. Set aside the heads for a delicious spaghetti with shrimp sauce; read here.
Trim along the curved back using the shear tip and remove the shell. Keep the little tail.
Remove the shrimp's digestive tract ("vein") using the tip of your knife or the tip of a toothpick; if you do not feel comfortable handling a pairing knife for the task.
Make a shallow cut on the back of the shrimp and pull the "vein" towards you.
Insert a toothpick into the shrimps from the bottom of their tails. It will prevent the shrimps from curving.
Place them in a steamer and cook for 5/6 minutes.
Plate drizzle some lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil and accompany with a beet root salad (here) or any side dish of your choice.
